A splash of rum for Neptune before the trip

"According to the old custom, a splash of rum is always poured from the stern of the yacht on Neptune when it sets sail, and all those on board receive a small symbolic sip clockwise. This custom was supposed to bring good luck to those going to sea and to placate the vetevana, so that it would treat all sailors well and keep them safe," explains Kalev Vapper, an experienced sailor.
