PALUKÜLA HEALTH TRAIL (1,5 km away)

Health trails are 1.8 km long (with lighting) and 2.7 km long. They can be skied, cycled or walked.

PÜHALEPA DISCGOLFI PARK (1,5 km away)

A disc golf course in Paluküla with 21 baskets and two tiers. Tier A is for advanced players and tier B is for recreational players. An 18-basket round is also possible.

ROOGRAHU HARBOUR (1 km away)


ROOGRAHU HARBOUR is a small port on the north coast of Hiiumaa.
A modern service centre with a year-round restaurant is open to guests at the harbour.
NEW! The depth of Roograhu basin has increased since its spring 2015 renovations to 2.5 metres. Lateral markers directing you to the harbour have been placed from the start of the channel.

SWIMMING NEAR ROOGRAHU HRBOUR  (1 km away)

There is an unofficial swimming spot near Roograhu Harbour. Because it’s something of a secret beach, ask us and we’ll give you directions on how to get there.

HIIESSAARE SILMAKIVI ROCK (1,8 km away)

Near Paluküla, among the junipers, is a giant boulder known as Silmakivi or the ‘Eye Stone’. It was a landmark for those coming in from the sea. In the mid-20th century it was still common for Kärdla youth to spend time on Silmakivi. They would take an accordion and a picnic basket with them.

HIIUMAA

There are lots of ways of finding interesting things to see and do on Hiiumaa. Gird your loins and talk to some of the locals. They’ll know the people and places around here well enough to show you where to go. But be warned: Hiiumaa folk are known to make jokes! If you go along with them, you’ll be fine.
